Yamaha launched the FZ Version 2.0 in India which is priced @ 80,196 (Ex Delhi). It is available is Molten Orange, Cyber Green, Moon Walk White, Matte Green and Astral Blue shades.
EXTERIOR, INSTRUMENTAL CONSOLE & BUILD QUALITY
The exterior design is quite very good and build quality is very good too. The elements like headlights, tail lights, diamond frame & alloys goes pretty well with overall design. The bike has dimensions of 1990/770/1050 mm (length/width/height), wheelbase of 1330mm, ground clearance is 160mm and weighs 132kgs. The Seat height of this bike is 790mm. The instrument panel is all digital which display speedometer, neutral blinker, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge, tachometer and also has an ECO indicator. The battery is a 4.0 AH sealed type.
Powering the bike is a 149cc single cylinder air cooled engine with fuel injection producing a power of 12.9 Bhp @ 8000 rpm & torque of 12.8 NM @ 6000 rpm mated to a 5 speed (1 down & 4 up pattern) gear box with the company claimed fuel economy of around 50 Kmpl which is very good and has fuel capacity of 12 Lts . The bike has a top speed figure of 110 Kmph & 0-100 time in around 18.4 Sec.
The engine has great low-end and mid-range punch which helps by providing very good acceleration in the city and the overall performance is quite very good which has great power in city and top-end fades over quite quickly providing adequate highway performance helping overtaking etc without much of an issue, yes top end could have had bit more punch for what the bike stance has to offer. The gearbox works very well providing great shift's.
RIDE, HANDLING & BRAKING
To begin with the suspension at front is Telescopic Fork with & at the rear is Monocross swing-arm which is setup in balance to take on City & Highway conditions and the tyres being 100/80 front & 140/60 rear R17 alloy wheels. The ride quality is great for both rider & Pillion making for a very much comfortable ride in city by absorbing bumps well and also very good in highway. The handling overall is Excellent. In city handling is great dealing with road conditions and also in highway it does great. The straight line stability is very good and does quite great job of handling in corners. The brakes are of 267mm front disk & 130mm rear drum and are well setup and the response from it is pretty good overall having pretty good feel & feedback but could have had rear disk at least as an option.
