Maruti launched the new alto 800 in India which is priced @ 2,46,000 - 3,60,000 (EX DELHI). It is available is Frost blue, White, Red, Grey, Torque blue and Silver shades.
1 EXTERIOR DESIGN & INTERIOR COMFORT
The exterior design is good and better than previous one. The headlights and front bumper are now replaced with new set of angular headlights and edgy bumper. Front bumper now features new black colored grille and sharp lines on it. It has a trendy chin spoiler which nicely merges in into the wheel arches of this car. Now, this car looks very aero dynamic when seen from the front. The 12 inch wheels don’t complement the compact design of this car. The car uses clear lens tail lamps and its boot gate and C-pillar are very identical to its elder sibling, A-star.
Now Alto looks much proportionate from inside than ever. The car features new fabric in its seats and door trims. These seats are very slim and have integrated headrests. These seats occupy less space than before and give you more space inside. The rear seat lacks back support and under thigh support. There is lot of silver accent inside in its top variant which includes silver finishing on door handles, steering wheel and around AC vents and centre console. The three spoke steering feels much better than before and complements its interior styling. The plastic quality has also improved significantly.

2 ENGINE & GEAR BOX
Engine is a 796cc 3 cylinder motor which delivers the horse power of 47.5 bhp @ 6000 rpm and torque of 69 Nm @ 3500 rpm and this car weighs 725kgs. This is a 4 valve engine is coupled with a 5 speed manual gear box. The engine is peppy and there is no turbo lag. It performs well even with AC powered on but here is still room left when it comes to refinement.
3 ACCLERATION & POWER N PERFORMANCE
The acceleration of this car is good due to less weight and bit more power. The initial pick up is very good and the gear ratios is also very good which adds to its performance. Acceleration and top speed of this car is give below.

4 FUEL CAPACITY & MILEAGE
It has a big 35ltr fuel tank out of which approximately 5ltr are left for reserve. The mileage of this car is very good which is given below.

5 STORAGE & SAFETY FEATURES
It has a boot storage space of 177 lts with a small rare parcel tray. The top model features driver side air bag and collapse steering column which adds to its safety.
6 SUSPENSION & BRAKING
There is a good braking system equipped here which features a front disk brakes and a rear drum brakes. The suspension is of good quality with gas filled shock absorbers and at high speeds the rear suspension feels a bit good.
7 RIDING COMFORT & HANDLING QUALITY
The car itself is designed for Indian roads and having a ground clearance of 160mm makes sure that it passes even the worst potholes present on Indian roads. The city driving and cornering of roads is very good thanks to its very light and smooth power steering but tends to slightly try's to loose control in highway conditions and highway cornering could have been better The wheelbase of 2360 adds to its stability but where as due to its light weight it highway driving or driving at speed of 120 is bit challenge.

CONCLUSION : Overall a pretty good vehicle which is good in city & highway driving with good features n performance with good mileage. For the price it is a bit expensive and provides very good competition.
