BAJAJ PULSAR 180 REVIEW



Bajaj launched the Pulsar 180 in India which is priced @ 70,300 (EX DELHI). It is available is Black, White and Grey shades.

1 EXTERIOR DESIGN & INSTRUMENTAL CONSOLE

The exterior design of this bike now featured wider tyres, a split seat, clip-on handlebarsa 3D Pulsar logo and tank scoops. It’s more refined and aerodynamic than its previous generation. It sports a broad, bold looking fuel tank with aerodynamic fairing, and the overall metallic finish is classy and sleek.

The Pulsar 180’s instrument console now features a smart digital console with a neutral blinker, low battery dial, self-cancelling indicator switches and a low-fuel indicator, in addition to the standard speedometer, odometer and trip meters. All of the displays are clear and easily visible.

2 ENGINE & GEAR BOX

Engine is a 178.6cc single cylinder 4 stroke variant. It delivers the power of 16.8 bhp @ 8500 rpm and torque of 14.2 Nm @ 6500 rpm. This is a 2 valve engine and has 5 speed manual gearbox with the gear shift pattern of one down and 4 up.

3 ACCLERATION & POWER N PERFORMANCE

The accleration of this bike is linear n smooth and has very good city & highway performance. All in all this engine is an all-rounder in its class. 
0-60 : 5.8 sec.
TOP SPEED : 136 km/h.

4 FUEL CAPACITY & MILEAGE

It has a big 15ltr fuel tank out of which 2.5ltr are for reserve. The mileage of this bike is very good which is given below.

CITY : 39-41 Km/l.
HIGHWAY : 47-49 Km/l.

5 STORAGE & SAFETY FEATURES

There is not much storage space found here. The bike pillion seat now has a rear grab rail and also has bright headlamp which adds to its safety.

6 SUSPENSION & BRAKING

There is a telescopic front forks and nitrox rear shock absorbers. The braking system here sports a big 260mm front disk and a 130mm rear drum.

7 RIDING COMFORT & HANDLING QUALITY

Pulasr 180 is stable and a comfortable bike. It offers Great handling which makes it light and responsive. The suspension and breaks offered with this make it handle very efficiently and is comfortable during the ride. The extended wheelbase of 1345 adds to its stability and high speed cornering is pretty good and with a ground clearance of 165mm ridding along worst potholes and speed breakers is easy. Over all city and highway riding is Great.

CONCLUSION : Overall a very good bike which has features, a powerful engine and performance with a good mileage and is on the value for money bike which is a tough competitor to its rivals.
