Suzuki launched the Gixxer 155 rear disk in India which is priced @ 79,726 (Ex Delhi). It is available in Candy Sonoma Red, Lush Green and Metallic Triton Blue shades.
EXTERIOR, INSTRUMENTAL CONSOLE & BUILD QUALITY
The exterior design is quite very good and build quality is very good too. The elements like headlights, tail lights, diamond frame & alloys goes pretty well with overall design. The bike has dimensions of 2050/785/1030 mm (length/width/height), wheelbase of 1330mm, ground clearance is 160mm and weighs 135kgs. The seat height of this bike is 780mm. The instrument panel is all digital which display speedometer, neutral blinker, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge, tachometer, but also also has gear position & RPM indicator. The battery is a (12V) 3.0 AH sealed type.
Powering the bike is a 154.9cc single cylinder air cooled engine producing a power of 14.6 Bhp @ 8000 rpm & torque of 14 NM @ 6000 rpm mated to a 5 speed (1 down & 4 up pattern) gear box with the company claimed fuel economy of around 60 Kmpl which is very good and has fuel capacity of 12 Lts . The bike has a top speed figure of 115 Kmph & 0-100 time in around 15.6 Sec.
The engine has very good low-end and mid-range punch which helps by providing very good acceleration in the city and the overall performance is quite very good which has great power in city and good in highway as well by providing pretty good highway performance helping overtaking etc without much of an issue. The gearbox works very well providing great shift's.
RIDE, HANDLING & BRAKING
To begin with the suspension at front is Telescopic Fork with & at the rear is 7 step adjustable Mono-shock swing-arm which is setup on little stiffer side to take on Highway conditions and the tyres being 100/80 front & 140/60 rear R17 alloy wheels. The ride quality is very good for both rider & Pillion making for a pretty good ride in city by absorbing minor bumps well enough and also very good in highway. The handling overall is Excellent. In city handling is pretty good dealing with road conditions and also in highway it does great. The straight line stability is very good and does great job of handling in corners. The brakes are of 266mm front disk & 240mm disk and are well setup and the response from it is pretty good overall having pretty good feel & feedback.
